The Directorate General of the Bavarian State Library in Munich has decided that the Bamberg State Library will leave the lending system of the Bamberg University Library in mid-2024 and will list its holdings in a joint system with the other state libraries in Bavaria. We very much regret this decision.

We would like to assure you that we will definitely continue the decades-long good cooperation between the University Library and the State Library. Both libraries are currently working intensively with the head office of the Bavarian Library Network to ensure that the State Library's holdings will continue to be accessible via the Bamberg Catalog and that books from the State Library can be ordered from the University's branch libraries and vice versa.

We will inform you as soon as a definite solution emerges and ask you for your patience until then.
